Am I still Weaving?

April 9, 2009

That is a question I have been asked a number of times because I am selling so much of my stuff.  I have been weaving for about 30 years – which sounds ridiculous to me – where did the time go? I n that long time I have had a number of looms and still have four and have somehow collected all kinds of extras.   My favourite loom which I purchased in 1992 is an AVL 16 shaft Computer Dobby loom (and yes I still have shaft envy!). But I also love the Glimakra which has a single unit drawloom attachment.  Then there is a Leclerc Fanny and a Tissart Tapestry loom, which I am selling because I realize it is more than I need right now.   I might sell the Fanny as well, but haven’t made up my mind yet!  It isn’t easy to part with old friends.  I have had the Fanny the longest and it has worked hard for me.

Then there is all the huge amount of yarn which I am pleased to say I have reduced considerably thanks to everyone out there helping!   When weaving for sale it was good to have a lot on the shelves to choose from, but I don’t need all of it any longer and still have more than I will use.

So thanks again to all of you helping me in the reduction sale!  And also thank you to all of you helping me with my other interest of stamp collecting, by sending back the postage stamps I use on your parcels.

For some reason I’m surprised that there are so many textile-related stamps from all over the world. I shouldn’t be….but I am!

Thanks for sharing your love of stamps and weaving!
